Toddler with a stye?

My 2 year old daughter was diagnosed by her pediatrician with having a stye on her left eyelid so he referred me to a Pediatric Opthomologist at the childrens hospital so that he can take a look at it and most likely drain it. My question is, have any parents gone through this procedure with their children? How long does it take? How old was your child and how did they react? Also, what is the recovery like? I know they are going to have to put my daughter under for the procedure but she is rather fiesty and will put up a fight so I was just kind of wondering what to expect. She is scheduled to have a consultation this wednesday but I just want to be prepared for what is to come.

I had pink eye that turned into stye’s when I was about 6 years old. I would have to go to the pediatricians and have the doctor poke needles in them to pop them. They finally put me under to have the surgery to get rid of them for good.

I had patches on my eyes for less than a day, and went home the same day. I am sure that things are much more efficient nowadays though…

Trust me, as I sure you know, its better to let the docs do this now than let them get worse!
