Do any of you guys listen to any good parenting podcasts?
I’m trying to find something to listen to while I do dishes and stuff, and the only ones I’ve managed to find seem to be very very pro-spanking, pro-CIO at 3 months, pro-yell and scream at our toddlers. One of them is called “Mean Mommies Club”–a group of mommies talking about their horrible children being (gasp) children, and there’s another one called “Pediacast”–a pediatrician and his wife who are uber-Christian conservatives spouting things like “stop nursing cold turkey at 12 months, blah..”
Anyway, does anyone know of a podcast that basically has parenting philosophies with basically the opposite opinions as the two mentioned above?
No sorry I don’t, but I love to listen to Dr. Laura. If you are unfamiliar with her then she used to be a practicing family counselor and then she started her call-in talk show where people call in and ask her for help solving moral delimmas etc. Some people find her too “unbending” but I like listening to someone cut through all the “crap” and help solve people’s problems. There are many topics covered, and parenting is one of them.
