when do you think a toddler stops drinking bottles of milk?
Our daughter is 20 nearly 21 months and still drinks a bottle of milk before bed (8 oz). She drinks a bit of milk at breakfast from a sippy cup and has no other milk drinks all day (though she has plenty of yoghurts, cheese in meals etc) till the bedtime bottle. She gave up the bottle in the morning around 13/14 months and the other day time bottles months before that (can’t remember now exactly when). Does she still need a nighttime bottle? If yes, how long for (not that it is a problem for me to make it but just wondering how long to do it for)? And if no, how do you recommend stopping it?
Aww if she still wants her bottle before bed then give it to her.
My 18 month old still likes to drink from her bottle in the morning and at night with sippy in the day. I’d do it for as long as she wants it really. You will know when the time is right to stop (all kids are different)
Calcium needs for toddlers
* Children 1 to 3 years need about 500 mg of calcium per day, while children 4 to 8 years need about 700 mg.
* Calcium cannot be made by the body so the dairy foods (milk, cheese etc) that children eat and drink every day are important.
* Most children under 5 get 70% of their calcium from cows milk, 20% from milk products such as cheese, yoghurt, custard, and 10% from breakfast cereals.
