Toddler Time

Isn’t it fun to have toddlers at home? Is their behavior annoying you? I hope not, of course we are happy to see kids running around and playing inside the house but to some extent some behaviors can affect our temper.
Stay calm, relax and face the problem as normal as you can. Do not let your toddlers’ behavior drain you.
You need to reach out to your toddler by exerting more effort through good communication. Yelling at your child will not help him understand that you wanted him to follow your instruction. This will only create another miscommunication between you and your toddler. Create an enjoyable and fun discipline for toddlers.
Give your instruction clearly and simply. Allow them to ask you if they do not understand what you are trying to ask of them. Their understanding is limited so clear and brief instruction will do.
Do not impose corporal punishment as this will not help him comprehend what were you trying to tell him. This might give him wrong message of being unwanted and would result to personality disparity.
Since these are young minds that need proper nurture, you have to accept that they will not totally understand your point, do not expect them to think and behave like adults do. Don’t sulk yourself to frustration just because they have not surpass your expectation. This is not an apt discipline for toddlers.
To avoid getting embarrass in public you need to plan ahead of time some strategies in handling your child’s tantrums. Or you can plan some divertive tactics for him not to focus his attention on things that might cause his tantrums.
Spend more time with your toddler. The attention you gave them could minimize their feeling of frustration. Bonding with your toddler could assure him that you are there to guide him.
Toddler should feel secure in the arms of his parents. A simple hug can make him feel safe thus this will boost his self esteem. A display of affection from parents will help the child overcome his limitations.
There are times that we need to let go of a simple misbehavior of our child. This may be natural for their age and that we need to understand. If it goes beyond control that will be the time that you need to address the problem properly.
