Nursing a year 3. age should I stop?

My daughter is now almost 3 and the dentist wants me to stop breastfeeding her especially at night, after brushing the teeth (which only nurses at night). Dentist-teeth are in good condition, but not for long if kept her BF. I tried to stop a couple of times but it breaks my heart to see her so sad and makes me very sad.
