My DD is a bully am I right to be concerned?
She is a year and a half old and very strong willed, we are currently in the early stages of “terrible twos”. I do understand that these “bully traits” are not malicious and that it is very normal for toddlers to hit and not share. My concern is that she only picks on smaller babies and toddlers at daycare and during play dates. I keep taking the toys away and stopping her from hitting, I also give her small “time outs” when she hits but nothing seems to be getting through…if anything the she retaliates more. Am I right to be concerned? Should I seek professional assistance? Did your toddler do this? What worked for you? any info is helpful thanks, Worried Momma
like you said, you never really know if your child has a problem or is just going through a phase since it is so common. just pay attention to her and try to explain how it’s not right and if she still does it, discipline her. the problem continuing is a sign that she does have a problem or that she’s too young to understand.
